Community Health Professionals (CHP) is a comprehensive home health and hospice service. Established in 1975, this nonprofit organization offers a complete range of services including skilled nursing, in-home therapy, hospice and inpatient hospice, and adult day care centers to rural northwest Ohio residents of all ages. CHP has also established The Angel Foundation (which operates much like the Make-A-Wishr Foundation) in an effort to grant wishes for terminally ill adults in Ohio-some of these wishes include family reunions, trips and weddings.
This summer, Community Health Professionals held its 18th Annual Golf Scramble at Hickory Sticks Golf Club in Van Wert, Ohio. The scramble benefits all CHP programs, but proceeds primarily finance its patient care fund. The agency works with patients and families regardless of their financial situation so the fund helps fill the gaps for uncovered medical expenses. This year's event was a success, bringing in over 100 golfers and numerous event, hole and cart sponsors. The scramble yielded close to nine thousand dollars in proceeds. Plus, thanks to a one by oner grant from promotional products retailer 4imprintr, all attendees received a can koozier imprinted with the CHP logo and service line. "Golfers appreciated something to help keep their drinks cold and we were able to educate them about our services in a creative way," said Community Health Professionals Greg Yinger, Public Education/Communications. "I sent in the application for the grant and didn't know what to expect-I was pleasantly surprised to find out we'd been selected."
